Just Let It Be Amazing

“When we are contemplating the universe, we are the universe contemplating itself, and that may be the most wondrous and extraordinarily profound aspect of our whole life.” Adyashanti in The Most Important Thing

It brings us back to question, What’s really going on here?

If you view the moon tonight, let the mystery of it all lead you into knowing that you really don’t know anything about the workings of the universe. No one does. And that’s perfectly okay. There is so much more going on than the mind could even comprehend. Just let it be what it is: amazing.

The Big Questions

What is my life about? Who am I? and What is God? If we are not asking these bigger questions, we tend to sleepwalk through life, skimming the surface, and acting and reacting from entrenched points of view and patterns of behaving.” Adyashanti in The Most Important Thing

Asking the bigger questions about life is all that matters. You could be an intellectual genius and still have no clue what you truly are or what’s really going on. It’s not about knowledge, it’s about essential wisdom.

The only thing that’s important is waking up, seeing Ultimate Reality clearly, and operating in human form from our true natural loving spirit. That’s it. The rest will take care of itself, because as it just so happens, it already is without any input from you and the way your ego thinks things should be.

Who am I really? Sit with that. Whatever answer the mind comes up with is false. Don’t let words inform you and add to an illusory identity. Let silence show you. It’ll burn all that is not true and reveal that which is the true One Self.

Who Made That Up?

“Society prepares you for the life it wants you to lead; it prepares you for the role that it wants you to have. But the spirit within you, unhappy being confined, can compel you to lead a true life, a significant life full of the vitality of spirit.” Adyashanti in Resurrecting Jesus

Everything you’ve been taught was told to you by someone else, and someone else told them, and someone before that may have thought it was the way the world should be. Have you ever stopped to think, Who made that up? All the things you think you should or shouldn’t do, what you simply must have, or be, or do. Some of it was probably just made up by you! Well, who says it has to be that way?

It’s not that the ways you think you should live your life are either good or bad, right or wrong, or even need to change. Nothing about you needs to change. Those are just more divisive, false, completely imaginary beliefs. I’m not saying deny them or follow them if that’s what you really feel compelled to do. I’m saying question everything you’ve been told, everything you think.

Even actions labeled as traditions that are deeply ingrained and wrapped with emotion. All just made up. I think that’s especially important to be mindful of during the holidays, as there’s so much self-imposed pressure and unnecessary stress around all the things we think we have to do.

Simply be still, question everything, and contemplate what is true.
